At Kate’s Kitchen, we’ve always believed great food should do more than taste amazing — it should do good too. So we’re thrilled to share that our founder, Kate, has just completed a 10-week Sustainability in Business Bootcamp with Future Leap (a certified B Corp), funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority… and what a journey it’s been!

Over ten weeks, Kate dived headfirst into all things sustainability — from the story of climate change (where we’ve been and where we’re headed) to the social side of building a better, fairer future. But this wasn’t just about theory and big ideas. The course was packed with practical tools and real-world strategies that businesses can actually use — the kind we love.

A big shoutout toLaura Millar and Lauren Gillis, who brought so much energy, insight and clarity to every session. Complex topics? Made simple. Big challenges? Made actionable. Safe to say, Kate came away inspired (and with a notebook full of ideas!).

What made the bootcamp really stand out was how hands-on it was. This wasn’t about ticking boxes — it was about rolling up your sleeves and figuring out how to make sustainability part of everyday decisions. From carbon literacy and environmental stewardship to inclusive leadership and driving change, every session was designed to help turn good intentions into real impact.

So, what does this mean for Kate’s Kitchen?

In short: exciting things ahead. We’re already passionate about sustainable catering, but this experience has given us even more ways to push ourselves further — reducing our impact, supporting our community, and creating events that feel as good as they taste.

And it wasn’t just about learning — it was also about connection. Kate met a brilliant group of like-minded people along the way, all working towards the same goal: making sustainability part of everyday business. That sense of shared purpose? Pretty powerful.

If you’re even slightly curious about sustainability — whether in your work or at home — we can’t recommend this course enough. With support from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, it’s a fantastic opportunity to build skills, confidence and real momentum.

For us, this is just the beginning. We’re more motivated than ever to keep learning, improving and serving up food with a positive impact.
