At Kate’s Kitchen, we’re committed to being transparent about the ingredients we use and maintaining the highest standards across everything we do.
We’d like to make customers aware of a recent update regarding the ham used in our lunch deliveries.
Due to changes at our butcher’s end, the ham we now use is no longer Red Tractor assured, as previously stated on our printed allergen cards. The original supplier has closed following animal welfare concerns, and our butcher has responsibly sourced an alternative supplier.
The ham we now use is SALSA approved (Safe and Local Supplier Approval).
SALSA is a respected UK food safety certification scheme, designed to ensure that food producers and suppliers meet rigorous standards. Suppliers must undergo annual on-site audits carried out by experienced food safety professionals, demonstrating that they consistently produce safe, legal food and operate to recognised industry standards.
This scheme is supported by leading organisations including the Food & Drink Federation, NFU, and UK Hospitality, with oversight from the Institute of Food Science and Technology. It provides assurance that suppliers are committed to maintaining high levels of food safety and quality.
We want to reassure all our customers that the quality, safety, and traceability of our ingredients remain a top priority whilst we actively explore options to source Red Tractor assured ham again as soon as possible.
If you have any questions about this update or require further allergen information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
